BTS member Jin recently found himself at the center of controversy after a Japanese woman in her 50s allegedly kissed him without consent during a fan event in Seoul, The incident took place in June 2024, just a day after Jin’s discharge from military service, at a “free hug” event attended by approximately 1,000 fans.

According to reports, the woman approached Jin during the event and kissed him on the cheek, an action that left him visibly startled.

With assistance from Japanese authorities, police identified the woman and booked her for questioning on charges related to sexual harassment, However, reports suggest that she has been uncooperative and has failed to respond to summons from the authorities.

The case has ignited discussions on the importance of respecting artists’ personal space, particularly in the highly passionate K-pop fan culture, Many fans and experts have pointed out the need for stricter security measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
