Global K-pop phenomenon BTS has been at the center of anticipation as fans around the world look forward to a full-group reunion in 2025. This year had long been earmarked by ARMY the group’s devoted fanbase, as the time when all seven members would finally return after fulfilling their mandatory military duties.
However, recent updates have thrown a curveball into these expectations, as it appears a world tour is not in the cards for 2025.
The speculation stems from a combination of developments involving both BTS’s label and its members. Most notably, Jin the oldest member of the group and the first to complete his military service has officially announced a series of solo concerts. While fans are thrilled to see Jin back on stage, the announcement also subtly indicates that group-wide activities may not be the immediate focus.

Jin’s decision to embark on solo promotions suggests a new chapter for BTS, where individual artistic exploration takes center stage. Although this doesn't mean the group is disbanding, it has fueled speculation that a complete group reunion and coordinated promotions might not happen as soon as previously hoped.
These concerns were further amplified by statements from HYBE, the entertainment conglomerate that manages BTS through its subsidiary BigHit Music. During the company’s Q3 earnings call, HYBE’s Chief Financial Officer, Lee Kyung Joon, stated;
We are currently in discussions with the members about activities in 2026.
This candid comment signaled that while plans are indeed in motion for BTS’s future, they may be geared more toward 2026 rather than the anticipated 2025.
Such clarity from HYBE adds weight to the growing belief that while individual members might engage in projects next year, including solo albums, concerts, and variety show appearances, a full-scale group comeback complete with an international tour might be delayed. The company has not officially confirmed this postponement, but the shift in narrative is clear.
Oh so BTS World Tour this year will not happen . 100% NEXT YEAR

BTS originally announced a temporary group hiatus in 2022, allowing members to explore solo ventures while preparing for their conscription into South Korea's military. Since then, each member has begun fulfilling this national duty in a staggered manner. Jin returned from service in mid-2024, and other members are expected to complete their enlistment by late 2025.
Despite the waiting, fans have remained loyal and supportive, engaging with solo releases and various content from the BTS universe. Still, the collective energy and synergy of all seven members performing together is what many are longing for.
The delay in group promotions may be disappointing to some, but it also reflects the evolving journey of BTS one that values both individual growth and collective harmony.
It appears fans will have to continue showing patience and support, with an eye on 2026 as a more realistic timeline for the highly anticipated full-group return and potential world tour.
