Song Da Eun Takes Legal Action to Refute Burning Sun Allegations and BTS’s Jimin Dating Rumors.

Actress Song Da Eun has officially taken legal steps in response to persistent online harassment and baseless rumors connecting her to the notorious Burning Sun scandal as well as false claims about a romantic relationship with BTS member Jimin.

On April 4, 2025, Song returned to Instagram after a brief hiatus and shared an update with her followers, In her post, she announced that her legal team had formally initiated lawsuits against individuals responsible for spreading defamatory content and personal attacks online.

Alongside her message, she posted a screenshot of a communication from one of the accused parties who requested that she drop the complaint.

Song, however, remained resolute, stating:

Why create a situation where you have to say sorry? I won’t accept apologies, and I will proceed with all the charges.

The actress also addressed the long-running rumors involving BTS’s Jimin. Speculations about a possible romantic link between the two began circulating in 2022, based on tenuous social media activity. Most recently, the rumors reignited in 2024 when Song posted, and quickly deleted a photo showing customized iPod cases labeled “Daeun” and “Jimin.” Though fans were quick to jump to conclusions, Song clarified that her actions were misunderstood and that her posts were never intended to reference Jimin.

She also voiced concern over toxic behavior by certain fan communities, criticizing the wave of cyberbullying and threats she received in connection to these baseless assumptions. “I was scared and couldn’t speak up for a long time,” she said, referencing the ongoing mental toll the situation has taken, In addition to clarifying her stance on the dating rumors, Song emphatically denied any involvement in the Burning Sun scandal, a 2019 incident that rocked the South Korean entertainment industry.

The scandal involved allegations of sexual assault, drug use, illicit filming, and police corruption centered around the Burning Sun nightclub in Seoul’s Gangnam district. While several celebrities were investigated or prosecuted, Song Da Eun’s name was never officially linked to the case, and she stressed that she has never even been accused in relation to the scandal.

Everything’s my fault? Burning Sun? Escort girl? Fake news? That’s not me. I’m not the accused.

Despite that, internet rumors have continued to surface, falsely accusing her of being involved. “It’s been incredibly frustrating to have my name dragged into something I have absolutely no connection with,” she wrote, explaining that the false narratives have negatively impacted both her personal life and career.

In closing, Song reaffirmed her commitment to seeing the legal process through and holding those accountable who have targeted her online. Her move reflects a growing trend among public figures in South Korea to fight back against defamation, online hate, and malicious gossip.
